Opinionated Eater: Danny's Pizza

We are back with another Opinionated Eater! This time, the chef and I went down to Danny's Pizza.

We didn't have pizza this time though. Even though we are still looking for the elusive "perfect" pizza here in Arlington. We may have found it, but we will have to try it again just to be sure!

Back to Danny's Pizza. B had heard about it since he meets Danny every morning when they are buying groceries for the restaurants, he had also been recommended by other people too. So, we walked in. Its a small place right off Cooper (the address on the site is wrong, FYI). Its very casual. You walk up to the counter and order. Then, you take a seat and one or both of Danny's daughters bring your food to you. Very homey feeling and sweet. Along the lines of something the B wouldn't mind doing someday.

The decor was full of Chicago Bulls paraphanilia and a few other things (like a ceiling tile with UTA's mascot). Danny is from Chicago, so it explains it, but it doesn't feel like a "sports pizza joint", just personal.

I ordered the Cheesy Beef Sandwich. I had it dipped and with sweet peppers. Very tasty. The bread was a really crusty, chewy bread meant for this type of sandwich. We got it in a combo, so it came with fries and a drink.

B ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich and a Chicago Dog. The Italian beef sandwich is exactly like mine, sans the cheese. B said that the Chicago Dog was made correctly, with the right relish (this is big for him) and a pickle spear. He was so impressed, he took a bite before I could get a picture in!

We will be back to taste the pizza and hopefully a follow up post for that! I would even go back for another sandwich!

Filter? What's that?!

My husband can vouch for me, I sometimes lose control of my mouth and it has a mind if its own. Or maybe it just voices what it wants? Either way, I tend to say things that others would not.

For example, the first time I met B's grandfather on his dad's side, was his birthday. I had C with me and B was working. There were lots of people I had only met a few times and some I was just meeting. Well, his aunt announces that her daughter (B's cousin) is expecting. Well, because of my losses, I don't take news like that very well. I said, "Oh? Is the pee stick even dry?!"

Yep, I said that. Once it was out of my mouth, I wanted to erase it from everyone's memories. Things like that cannot be unsaid.

Well, my mother in-law informed me last week that said cousin's baby shower is coming up. I never got an invitation. This isn't the first time either. The same aunt, had a birthday party. Never got an invitation. So, now, I told my mother in-law that I would go, I really don't want to, I'm not ready. I just have to come up with a polite way to say, "I'm still reeling from my miscarriages, even though my last was almost 2 years ago. I really don't want to be around any pregnant ladies, thanks for Super Bowl Sunday, also. And I wasn't even invited, I don't want to go to something I wasn't invited to! When will you get a fucking clue?!"

Honestly, I am at a loss for some nice way to put how I really feel. I miss B.

Speaking (typing?) of B! The restaurant should be open next week (1 of 2 they are opening currently). They are having an investor's dinner tomorrow at the new location! Pretty exciting! Too bad I am missing it all.

Relaxing..

So awesome to have a night without C. She has been super moody lately. I love her to pieces and I love being a mom, but sometimes, I need a fucking break. She asks constant questions about random shit all the time. Even when I do answer the question, if she doesn't believe or like the question, she either asks the same question or alters it someway. Talk about driving a person insane.

So, I am just sitting here listening to Lucky's breathing while he sleeps. And the tick ticking of the floor heater. I will be so glad to be out of this house, and it's quirkiness, and into my husband's arms again. I miss him like crazy.

Uneventful day here, got the kiddo off to her great grandparent's house. B had an auction to go to to purchase a few remaining items for the steak and seafood restaurant he is opening. He has been insanely busy. I will be glad once the first restaurant is open, that means one down, one to go (for now).

PS. Did you know in Canada, Pizza Hut has hot dog stuffed crust pizza? Sounds gross to me and even B. thoughts?
